Meet the driven singer/songwriter behind Latin pop hit “Solo Yo” (Nobody But Me) featuring superstar Prince Royce, as well as top tracks “So Beautiful,” “Conmigo,” and “Muévelo.”
As a little girl growing up in Monterrey, Mexico, Sofía Reyes’ grandmother taught her piano. As her talent and love for music grew, her musician/songwriter father was one of her first collaborators. See how the support of family (and karaoke with friends) turned into something much bigger.
Sofía Reyes moved away from her family in Mexico to chase her musical dreams in L.A. It was a huge leap of faith to leave her family, and a stressful turning point for such a young artist. Meet her network of real, honest good neighbors, including mentors like Prince Royce, who believed in Sofía and helped her find her sound.
Sofia Reyes surprises a classroom full of aspiring musicians and learns how music is making a difference in their lives. State Farm® teams up with Sofia Reyes and Little Kids Rock to support music education.
“If you don’t take opportunities in life … maybe they won’t come.” — Sofia Reyes
Sofía Reyes was only 6 years old when she started singing and playing piano. By age 12, she was cast as the lead in a local Monterrey (Mexico) television series. She became lead singer for pop Mexican band TAO just two years later.
Soon, it was on to Los Angeles as a solo artist with independent label Bekab Productions. Her first solo single, “Now Forever,” and its music video, attracted a large following in the United States, Mexico, and Latin America. The music video for her second single, “So Beautiful” —designed to showcase the inner beauty in people — was shot at a South Central L.A. nonprofit offering programs for low-income children.
Catching the attention of Latin superstar Prince Royce, Sofía was the first artist on his label, D’León Records (in collaboration with Warner Music Latina and Bakab Productions), which allowed her to record with some of the top writer/producers in the industry.
Sofía's first single under D'León Records, “Muévelo,” was a huge worldwide hit, reaching Platinum in Spain and charting on Billboard’s Top 20 Latin Pop chart for more than 20 weeks.
Since then, Sofía’s accomplishments and recognition have steadily grown. Her musical talent, fashion savvy, and desire to give back create one powerhouse artist:
Guest artist during Prince Royce’s “Soy El Mismo Tour” and “Power and Love Tour”
“Up and Coming" nominee for the 2014 MTV Millennial Awards
Charted her second hit single under D’León Records, Warner Music Latina and Bakab Productions: “Conmigo – Rest Of Your Life”
Served as Goodwill Ambassador for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games
Named to Maxim's "2015 Hot 100" list in the company of Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Jennifer Lawrence
Participated in #LikePorMi: Ritmoson’s bullying awareness campaign and concert in Mexico
Her momentum continues this year, launching her first single together with Prince Royce, “Solo Yo” (Nobody But Me) and reaching the Latin Pop Billboard charts — becoming the first female act to hit No. 1 in five years (since Jennifer Lopez).
Sofía will launch her very first album soon.
