Meet Our Moore/Norman Neighbors
Every neighborhood inspires stars. Meet some Oklahoma superstars who make their neighborhoods better and inspire others every day.
Chris Fox and Serve Moore
When things are at their worst, good neighbors bring their best. When another tornado tore through the community in 2015, Serve Moore stepped up (again) to help people help themselves.
Dewey and Kathryn Selmon
OU Football Coach Barry Switzer once called Dewey Selmon and his two brothers, “gentle giants.” Today, Dewey and his wife, Kathryn, are making a giant difference for their neighbors in need at Food and Shelter for Friends in Moore/Norman.
State Farm Agent Jim Evans
Jim Evans grew up in Moore. He sees the power of good neighbors every day in his community. Jim says that when disaster strikes, people show who they are by what they do. See how Jim and his team survived an EF5 tornado that destroyed their office.
Meteorologist Jesus Lopez doesn’t think he’s a hero. He says he’s just doing his job. But for the local Spanish-speaking community, Jesus’ passion for keeping people safe is nothing short of heroic.
Dr. Joe Carter
Joe Carter knows firsthand how devastating natural disasters can be for animals. His commitment to healing animals, along with helping their owners be better prepared, is proof of the power of good neighbors to make a difference.
State Farm Agent Terry Cavnar
After enduring six tornadoes in five years, State Farm Agent and Moore City Council member Terry Cavnar says doing nothing was not an option. Working together and working hard to pass new building codes, his community is setting an example for others. See how Moore responded, reengineered and rebuilt.
